Pudu Chan Fatt Wanton Mee ~ Heritage On A Bowl At Damansara Uptown Petaling Jaya
It all began 63 years ago in 1955 when migrant Wong Poon and his wife, Lee Yit Lee made and sold fresh wanton mee and dumplings in Pudu near the Jalan Pasar Wet Market in Kuala Lumpur. Chan Fatt Wanton Mee was, in fact, one of the well-known wanton mee shops during that era. In 1996, both of them - by then already in their 60s, called it quits for their Pudu outlet.
Megan, their youngest daughter, decided to venture into food business after her retirement as an accountant. She has successfully revived her parent's heritage family wanton mee business opening Pudu Chan Fatt Wanton Mee in Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya last year.
