The Festival Gala Launch MALAYSIA INTERNATIONAL GOURMET FESTIVAL (MIGF) 2014

Taste MIGF ~ The Spectacular Preview
I was truly honoured to be invited to the Gala Launch of Taste MIGF - VIP Taste Sovereign held on 26th September 2014 at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre.

It was a totally exciting yet humbling experience to be the media participant; given the privilege to have the  first hand to try out and taste the glorious spread from the 28 restaurants cuisines. At the specially created location - The Theatre of Cuisines, we were treated to a "Super Gourmet Safari" around all 28 Festival Restaurants with tasting portions from their Festival Menus.

Taste MIGF is the spectacular preview event for the Malaysia International Gourmet Festival (MIGF) which is due to take place throughout this coming October with the theme RED HOTS CHEFS.

For a full Festival month of October, outstanding chefs from the country's best restaurants will offer diners specially created Festival Menus available at exclusive Festival prices together with a host of generous Festival offers

Food lovers will be taken on a great culinary experience savouring of the country's best restaurants line up of Festival Menus at special prices together with a host of special offers. The extensive variety of cuisines means that there is something to suit all tastes.

RED HOTS CHEFS

Surrounded by captains of industry ~ RED HOTS CHEFS, we were taken on a global gourmet safari, sampling tasting portions from each of the 28 participating restaurants in the stunning "Theatre of Cuisines". Fare from the 4 corners of the Earth were well represented, from Sri Lankan to Cantonese, Modern French to Italian, Japanese to Thai, and a fusion of International and Western specialities.

Honoured to be part of the judging team for the BEST and MOST CREATIVE Restaurant for the event
 Festival Master Chefs
As each of the Festival Master Chefs strutted on stage, the MC announced them in synch with the MIGF Red Hot Chefs TV ad, they struck a pose while media cameras flashed and the crowd looked on. Then, under a sea of confetti, with Dato’ Steve and Tunku Naquiyuddin on stage, the Festival was officially declared open.

Food lovers can partake in a Super Gourmet Safari in one spectacular and specially ~ The Theatre of Cuisines. Here, they buy Gourmet Dollars to exchange for the tasting portions from the Festival Restaurants.

Redemption of Gourmet Dollars from the registration counters with an average value of RM50 per booklet with value of RM5 per dollar. Once you had collected your MIGF bag and wristband, you would then be granted access into the awe-inspiring Theatre of Cuisines, with booths by the 28 participating restaurants encircling the area.

Exquisite Dining Display

Each was exquisitely decorated with displays of food, ingredients, artwork, candles and more in styles that reflected the concept and character of their restaurant, attempting to outdo each other with their creativity.

Enchanting candles set the mood for an wonderful evening

Smiling serving staff would enthusiastically greet you as you pass, extolling the virtues of their artistic sampling portions and urging you to try a bite. If you decided to accept, you'd only need to tear off the requisite number of Gourmet Dollars to exchange for the portion of your choice, and receive a delicious sample in return that often looked almost too good to eat.

  3. The event planner at this place was flexible in allowing us to bring in our own personal touches, including a host of different desserts (which the staff plated beautifully for us).
